Organotherapy
Organotherapy targets specific organs and tissues. It uses specific low dose substances derived from healthy animal organs/ tissues. These organs are obtained under veterinary supervision, they are processed, freeze- dried and then proceed to homeopathic manufacture.
The 2 main principles upon which organotherapy are based that:
1) Like organ treats like organ
2) The medicines have tri-phasic activity, that is low potencies stimulate, medium potencies balance and high potencies inhibit.
Organotherapy acts on specific tissues to help regulate function. These medicines are used for inflammatory disease processes such as rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, disc degeneration, and other musculo-skeletal problems. In addition Organotherapy has been used for menopausal and peri menopausal states to help regulate hormone levels. One method of action of Organo therapeutic medicines is through regulation of T helper 1(Th1) and T helper 2 (Th2) cells, that is cell mediated or humoral (blood) mediated immunological responses.
Th3 cells regulate inflammation through gut associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) by inducing the bystander effect and regulating Th1 and Th2 ratio. Th3 cells formed from Antigen presenting cells, do so by naive T cells displaying the ingested antigen/s as motifs on the external wall of the MHC (major histocompatibility complex). These then differentiate into Th3 cells with motifs, which are cloned in lymphoid tissue in the body, and travel to inflamed areas. These specific motif shapes on Th3 cells, find inflammatory sites and attract similar motifs on and combine with Th1 and Th2 cells. This ultimately prevents the body from seeing its own tissue as foreign and down regulates the inflammatory process to bring about homeostasis.
